Estancia del Zorro is a massive 15,000-acre ranch near the Chile and Argentina border. The property encompasses miles of private spring creeks and a huge diversity of nearby rivers and lakes to choose from. Set on the expansive arid Pampas, anglers enjoy personalized, first-rate service, and discover the cultural experience of a traditional Chilean estancia where wild condors soar the skies.
Estancia del Zorro is unsurpassed when it comes to their quantity of top tier Patagonia Brown Trout fishing. Beyond the streams, this destination has a high level of excellence when it comes to hospitality, comfort, dining and guide staff. Guest will get a genuine Chilean cultural experience that is then amplified through observing and understanding the intricacies of day-to-day ranching in this corner of Patagonia.
Estancia del Zorro is a restored ranch house featuring 12 comfortable guest rooms for up to 12 guests. Each room has two king-sized beds, private baths, and balconies with incredible views stretching across the ranch and spring creek. The lodge’s welcoming great room is the ideal place to unwind and enjoy cocktails while replaying the days fishing with new friends. Lamb on the cross over the fire pit in the lodge’s quincho is a weekly favorite for guests and staff alike. Estancia del Zorro is a 100-year-old sheep and cattle ranch with traditions and methods that remain today. We encourage you to fill your wine glass and sit down with your hosts and ask them to recount stories of yesteryear in the valley, region and country.
Estancia del Zorro fly fishing guides escort anglers throughout the estancia and beyond to reach the best of 8 different prolific trout rivers for any given daily conditions. Estancia del Zorro’s gem is the all private, totally exclusive Zorro Creek, a 15-mile spring creek with Brown Trout averaging 18-19 inches and reaching 10 pounds. Floating the Rio Simpson is a must for those who also like big waters. Most visiting angler’s itineraries include 2 days targeting the large Brown Trout in Zorro Creek, a day or two fishing the renowned Rio Simpson plus a short drive across the border to fish nearby waters in Argentine.
