Although we specialize in Argentina, our neighboring countries offer some exceptional fishing destinations that really aren’t so foreign to us. With a long history of working with these outfitters and our clients frequenting their destinations, we are excited to offer them as special alternatives to our trusted adventures in Argentina.
In October 2021, FFP is venturing deep into the far northwestern reaches of the Brazilian Amazon Jungle in search of Giant Temensis on the Rio Marie. This is a truly exotic and wildly remote, world class fly fishing destination and we welcome fellow adventurous anglers to join us.
Anglers interested in booking the Rio Marie should request our:
Rio Marie Outfitting and Travel Guide – A 17 page comprehensive booklet with detailed information on the project, fishing, lodging and travel.
Only anglers who book with us will receive our:
Rio Marie Pre-Trip Information – A travel packet with detailed check lists for packing fishing gear and clothes plus a valuable check list for what to do 9 months out, 90 days out and 7 days out. It’s your road map to make sure you are 100% prepared and ready!
Rio Marié (mar-ee-ah) holds at least twice the quantity of trophy-sized peacock bass compared to any other destination in the 710,000 km² Rio Negro basin. For anglers, this translates into very real and rare opportunities to consistently hook and release the largest Peacock Bass on earth. This is a fly fishing only fishery, with no pressure from conventional anglers or any anglers for that matter, for hundreds of miles.
From Manaus, we’ll take a float plane 5oo miles to the Rio Marie Reserve and land at the lodge, The Untamed Amazon, a deluxe live-aboard and mobile mothership. Once there, anglers will fish on modern flats boats with one veteran international guide plus one native guide and have exclusive access to over 400 private river miles and almost 200 unnamed creeks.
Try your technique with highly skilled indigenous fishermen by your side and discover the Pinawaca—the artisan fly that may indicate the natives have pioneered fly fishing with streamers.
