Other Activites

With a little advanced planning, individuals or part of a group may enjoy an array of activities besides wine tastings and vineyard tours.

The city of Mendoza is fascinating even without the viticulture influence. Mendoza has known for its spectacular inner city parks, plazas and tree lined avenues. A walking tour is the perfect way to personally experience these attractions. Art lovers will enjoy visiting the art exhibits within the parks and as well as in the finer galleries and museums. Music is also a part of the local flare, and is found in the parks as well as in the two major theaters in Mendoza. February is a active time in Mendoza as local arts get warmed up for Vendimia,
the annual wine festival.

Two additional popular activities are horseback riding and fly fishing. Our friends run many of the ranches in the area and are eager to provide us with horseback rides through their ranches and up into the Andes. There are also several small streams, which hold large 2-3 pound rainbow and brown trout. A full day's horseback ride takes more enthusiastic trout anglers to a secluded, untouched lake holding huge 5-6 pound rainbows. We recommend spending two or three nights in one of the rustic lakeside cabins. These fishing areas are near the Las Lenas ski resort. For the indiscriminate and adventurous angler, we have access to six ponds holding large carp. Catching carp can be exhilarating and is a super way to enjoy a different activity for one hour or for the day.
