Fly Rods
One 5 and one 6-weight rods, four piece. A four piece 4 weight rod might also be worthy of having. Nothing shorter than 9 feet.

Lines
Floating lines for the 4, 5, 6, wt. rods. Shooting lines for the 5 and 6 wt. Scientific Anglers Wet Tip Express 150 line is highly recommended for a 6 wt rod.(Teeny 130 and 200 are also good for 5 and 6 wt. rods)

Leaders
4x and 5x 9-foot (6 each), 3x and 2x 7.5 foot (6 each)

Other essentials
Tippet material, 6x-2x
Breathable waders-No studs on wading boots please!
Polarized sunglasses
Wading belt

Flies - Assembled boxes of Patagonia flies are available upon request.

 

Dry flies- Royal Wulff, Irresistible, Humpy, Griffith Nat, Black Nat, Elk Hair and Goddard Caddis, (sizes 18-12, 16 being favorite) Stimulators (size: 12 and 10) Madam X, Turk's Tarantula, Chernobyl Ant, Hoppers. Sizes: 10 and 6, quantity: 3-4 of each. Rubber legs are always helpful.

Streamer flies- Beadhead (BH) Wooly Buggers with or without flashabou; olive, black, brown and brown and yellow (JJ Special); BH or weighted Rabbit Strips or Bunnies, Matukas, similar colors, yarn or seal fur Leeches similar colors including red, Bitch Creek and other big bright flashy ugly streamers. Size: 8- 4, quantity: 3-4 of each. Rubber legs are always helpful.

Soft hackle wet flies- Any typical pattern like a Peacock, Yellow and Black Soft Hackle- Beadhead preferred. Quantity: 4 or more assorted.

Nymphs- BH and non BH Prince and Pheasant tail; Hare's Ear, tan, green, black; CDC Caddis Emergers, Sparkle Caddis Emergers. Size: 14-18, quantity 3-4 of each. Green scuds, size 18.
Note: Take all your trout and salmon flies.
