TROUT FISHING: Argentina - Santa Cruz,
Jurassic Lake
The Camp
For such an extremely remote location, the river camp is surprisingly comfortable, clean and has practically everything a traveling angler could want. We call it the camp or the river camp because it’s a stones throw from the Barancuso River. Anglers can walk a few yards and start catch fishing in either the river or the outlet in the bay.
The accommodations consist of spacious safari dome tents with transparent walls, wooden floors and beds, a generator, comfortable mattresses, sleeping bags and fresh linens. There is a dome tent for cooking, one for dinning, one for showering and one for storage. In 2010, new wooden cabins were built with heaters and 3 beds per room along with new flush eco-friendly toilets. In total the camp can hold 9 anglers and 4 guides.
The guides will be multi-tasking everyday, cooking, cleaning, managing camp and guiding. Here anglers normally don’t need a guide constantly at their side, as the fishing is relatively obvious. All the Jurassic Lake fishing guides know how to please a group of hunger anglers with plenty of good food and fabulous Malbec.
