ARGENTINA GUN PERMITS & ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS, 2008
Step 1
The Argentine Consulate in your district MUST be notified. Each district has it’s own procedures for bringing guns into Argentina. They have their own import permits, procedures and instructions. You will have to pay about 45$ for the permit. Scroll down for a list of Argentine consulates and contact the one in your district.
Step 2
Obtain and complete an official technical form, provided by RENAR (gun registration office of Argentina) at www.renar.gov.ar/english/turista/ficha.asp. This form can be filled out manually and be printed and used for 3 weapons per person.
-The original form and 4 copies must be brought along with the weapons. All forms must be signed. Retain one copy for yourself.
-When you arrive, show all your documentation and pay a fee of 110 U$D per weapon.
-Permits will expire 90 days from the date of arrival.

Step 3
Be prepared to show proof of ownership of your firearms via purchase receipt and register your guns with personal effects form 4457 from US Customs prior to departure. You can do this at your international departure airport or print it off here and turn it in at the US Customs office at the airport. When you arrive at Ezieza International Airport, Buenos Aires
Go through immigrations like all other passengers. If asked, state that you are here to hunt in Corrientes.
Collect your luggage and guns at baggage claim.
Proceed to customs. They will direct you to the Registro Nacional de Armas Office RENAR (previously called the PAN office). (If you have asked to have our representative to pick you up at the airport, he will be present at the RENAR Office to assist you.)
The RENAR officers will ask for paperwork of steps 2 and 3 above and inspect your guns.
Proceed to the Exit to meet our representative who will have a sign with your name on it.
Important:
1- Weapon’s legal status in the country of origin must be up to date.
2- Check with the traveling airline if you need extra permits or documents.
3- Weapons should be carried disassembled with all barrels empty. No cartridges inside weapons case.
4- Weapons must be checked in as luggage and identified by the airline personnel.
5- At Buenos Aires International Airport, weapons must be picked up at the luggage section.
6- Keep the permit safe with you and with the guns at all times.
7- You must carry the weapons with you at all times.
