TROUT FISHING: Argentina - Bariloche
Estancia Peuma Hue
The Estancia Peuma Hue is an ideal Patagonia lodge for groups comprised of anglers and non-anglers that prefer high end lodging. Located 20 minutes south of Bariloche, the lodge sits on Lake Guillermo and is towered by dense, virgin forests and high mountains. The buildings of Peuma Hue are all in the style of Andean architecture, using full trunks of the native cipres tree and local stone. The owners have built this premium lodge with the intention of creating a place where nature is observed and enjoyed with guests, family and friends.
The Estancia Peuma Hue Lodge holds 10 guests in 3 double rooms and one room with 4 twin beds. The second, home, know as the Guest House, has 4 double rooms in a more private setting. Rooms in both buildings are creatively decorated with huge cipres trunks, hand crafted furniture, stone work and large windows. Some bathrooms have sky lights.
Two additional buildings on the property are a chapel and secluded log cabin high on the mountain. The small, non-denominational chapel is also designed in the Andean style and mostly used for private concerts for guests. It has two chimneys, a huge diamond front window, a bolder for an altar and a hanging piece of obsidian that rings out a clear, high tone when tapped. The secluded 2 bedroom cabin overlooks the lake and the rest of the property.
While anglers are fishing nearby waters, non-angling guests at Puema Hue can enjoy horseback riding, trekking, rafting, birding, day trips to Bariloche, wine tastings and tango dancing. Tango lessons are made easy by Peuma Hue’s patient instructors and a few glasses of Malbec.
