at the South Fork Lodge in Idaho – Aug 17-29, 2013!

After our first trip to Natural Retreats South Fork Lodge in August 2012, we quickly decided we wanted to return annually. From the super friendly staff and guides, to the beautiful lodge and outstanding food and of course the incredible fishery, we consider this a slam dunk.   We are excited to return and reunite with the anglers we fished with in Argentina and to meet new friends along the way.

So in 2013 Oscar, Alex  and Justi are together hosting a trip August 17-29. We will be there the whole time and you can come anytime, even for a day.  However, we recommend coming for 5-6 night between Aug 21-28.  This will give you time to fish all the sections of the South Fork, mountain streams like Pine or Elk Creek or possibly take a day off without feeling guilty.  It will also allow time to do one night at their private wilderness camp right on the river! We’ve done it and its awesome!

So check your calendars and let us know which dates within the Aug 17-29 window work for you.  You can reserve your space directly with the lodge (see below.)

Fishing - We will be fishing the upper, lower and the canyon sections of the South Fork of the Snake River. The South Fork is well known as an amazing Cutthroat, Rainbow and  trophy Brown Trout fishery with heavy insect activity almost the entire year. It boasts the largest Bald Eagle nesting area in the lower 48, the largest cotton wood forest in the country, sheer basalt walls and dramatic rock formations, waterfalls and we could go on and on.

The Lodge- The South Fork Lodge has a rustic elegance that leaves guests feeling relaxed, warm and almost too comfortable. Every room is incredibly spacious from the terracotta and stone tiled bathrooms, to the high ceiling dining room with 180 degree view of the river.  Guests enjoy Wi-Fi in each room and lobby, a 24 concierge service, a smiling staff and a fire pit and bar to relax after a great day on the water.

Accommodations- You will have your choice between, the Lodge Suites, Deluxe and Family Suites, The Private Residence, and Fisherman’s Cabins.     See lots of photos of the facilities and river here!

Food! –The Riverside Bar and Grill has a seasonal menu with local dishes including Grilled Rocky Mountain Bison Ribeye, Prime Center Cut Filet Mignon, Smoked Trout Chowder and Slow-roasted Pork Prime Rib with Crimini Mushrooms.  Their breakfast menu has a variety of delicious and unique dishes that will leave you satisfied until lunch. (Our two favorite dishes were the yogurt parfait and the sushi roll!)
