Are Argentina, Uruguay and Chile safe for foreigners?
Yes, Argentines, Uruguayans and Chileans depend on tourism and welcome travelers warmly. Just as in any large city, common sense should be used in Buenos Aires and Santiago.

What destination/trips do you recommend?
1) Combination Northern Argentina & Patagonia trip- Five days fishing for Northern Argentine dorado with five days fishing for wild trout in Patagonia.
2) Combination Wilderness Fishing Expedition & Lodging Experience- Four day float trip with one or two lodges for four or five days (all Patagonia)
3) Combining the Mendoza Wine Treks with trout fishing in patagonia or dorado fishing in Northern Argentina. 4 days each location
4) Combining Wing Shooting in Uruguay with fishing for dorado Northern Argentina or the Mendoza Wine Trek. 4 days each location.

When is the best time to come?
Fishing success depends more on the day then the month.
Patagonia for wild trout:
November 15 - December, best fishing
Jan-April, more reliable weather, good fishing
March 15 - April, best time for large browns, good weather.
Northern Argentina for Dorado:
September 15 - December 15, best fishing
Jan-March, Warmer weather, good fishing
March 15-May, moderate weather, very good fishing
Mendoza for Wine Treks:
October-May, warmer weather
Uruguay for mix bag wing shooting;
May-August 31, more available species

What are the prices?
Rates are per person per night (dbl):
Bariloche: $435 - $510 (depending on lodges chosen)
Junin: $550
Cholila/Esquel: $535
Rio Pico: $450
Tierra del Fuego: $3750 - $4620
Chile: $550
Esquina: $450
Uruguay: $350-$450 (depending on species targeted)
Mendoza: $150-$495 (depending on itinerary chosen)

What activity can I do as a non-angler or non-hunter?

Every destination has a variety of non-fishing adventures such as touring an Andean Condor nesting site, horseback journeys, golf, lake excursions, shopping and touring neighboring towns. Mendoza is a fantastic destination for non-porting travelers to enjoy.

How far in advance should I book?
Book at least eight months in advance to reserve your first choice of accommodations and your week on Caleufu River multi-day fishing expedition.

Who will guide us?
Chief guides and operators, Oscar Dono and Justi Campa, will accompany you during most if not all trips in Patagonia and Northern Argentina. All associate guides are professional, native and in many cases trilingual.
