GOLDEN DORADO: Argentina - Esquina

At Fly Fishing Patagonia, we offer various Golden Dorado fishing packages around our 2 lodges and the 3 different fishing areas.  This destination offers prime Dorado fishing while being appropriate for non-angling companions and wing shooters alike.  Our minimum stay is 4 nights and our season is from the 3rd week in December to the 1st week in November.  Please see our Golden Dorado fishing itineraries below.

Golden Dorado Fishing

6 nights, Estancia La Pelada
5 days fishing

Day 1
Arrival Buenos Aires.  Upon request, our representative will meet you in the airport and transfer you to the domestic airport for your flight to Corrientes.  Guides will pick you up at the Corrientes Airport and drive you 3 hours to the lodge.  Tour the grounds. Cocktails and dinner.

Day 2
We’ll walk 200 yards down to the Corriente River and board our boats.  We will most likely fish down river in the morning, return to the lodge for lunch, and then fish upriver in the late afternoon.

Day 3
Dorado fish the Corriente, up river from the lodge. Lunch on the river.

Day 4
This morning we’ll depart the lodge for a full day out on the Paraná River Delta, where the Paraná and the Corriente meet.  We’ll be floating and fishing small channels that interconnect these massive water systems.  Keep a sharp eye out for all kinds of wildlife.

Day 5
Fish the main Paraná River, where the volume of water increases greatly along with our chances of catching big Golden Dorado.

Day 6
Fish the Corriente River or the delta.

We will drive you back to the regional airport for your flight to Bs. As..

Golden Dorado Fishing and Dove Hunting

3 days dove hunting, 2 days dorado fishing
(Jan 1-Nov 1)

Day 1
Arrival Buenos Aires. Upon request, our representative will meet you in the airport and transfer you to the domestic airport for your flight to Corrientes.  Guides will pick you up at the Corrientes Airport and drive you 3 hours to the lodge.  Tour the grounds, cocktails and dinner.

Day 2-4
All day high volume dove hunting.  Hunters will have the opportunity to shoot approximately 500-1000 shells at passing doves.  A barbequed lunch will be served in the fields.

Day 5-6
Fish for Golden Dorado in the delta or on the Corriente and Paraná Rivers.  The area will depend on water levels and fishing conditions.  We’ll be casting fly rods or casting rods from 16-20ft boats.  Sometimes we’ll be wading the sandy beaches.

Day  7
Depart for Corrientes Airport for your departure flight home.

Trout Fishing Combo and Golden Dorado Fishing

2 nights lodging – Bariloche
3 nights and 4 days floating and trout fishing on the Caleufu River
5 nights at Estancia La Pelada
4 days Golden Dorado fishing
(For the trout fishing, a 3 or 5 tar lodge can be in lieu of the Caleufu float trip)

Day 1
Arrive Buenos Aires, upon request our representative will greet and transfer you to the domestic airport for your flight to Bariloche.  Airport pick-up, hotel check-in, tour of Bariloche, group dinner.

Day 2
At 9:00 am we’ll pick you up from your Bariloche hotel and drive 2 hours to the Caleufu River to start our 3 night, 4 day float trip.  Everyone will be given dry bags for their personal items.  The first day the river is relatively fast with a few rapids and gorgeous views.  This is a great section for dry fly fishing with most fish in the 16 inch range.

Day 3-4
The second day the river slows but the fishing picks up.  Anglers should use dries and nymphs. Average fish size should increase to 17-18 inches.  Large 5-10 pound browns take streamers mostly and are found in deep runs and pools.  Be on the look out for Red Stag, Wild Boar, foxes and Condors.

Day 5
On the last day, you’ll be fishing slow pools and grassy banks for some big fish either on top or with streamers.  At 5:00 pm we’ll reach the take out and transfer 2.5 hours to your Bariloche hotel.  Hotel check-in.  Group dinner.

Day 6
Full day of travel.  Departure flight out of the Bariloche to Buenos Aires.  Fly Buenos Aires to Corrientes.  We will pick you up at the Corrientes Airport and drive you 3 hours to the Estancia La Pelada.  Cocktails and late dinner.

Day 7
