Located south of Junin de los Andes, the estancia employs about 25 gauchos and 10 in-house workers to run farm and guest operations. Your hosts, Paula and Martin Zimmermann ensure that the customs of old Argentina estancias are as unaltered as the Patagonia frontier. Anglers, hunters and polo players from around the world quickly realize a refined informality at Estancia Quemquemtreu that allows them to relax and be as they would in their own home.

The Quemquemtreu stream flows close to the estancia and offers great dry fly fishing. This creek flow into the nearby and more famous river the Collon Cura. The "Collon" is a large river well known for its quality and quantity of large rainbow and brown trout, it's easy of fishing.

The estancia has both fishing and hunting lodges and each having a capacity of 10. All visitors enjoy the bar and showroom to enjoy cocktails before or after dinner. Family style meals are served with all natural meats, vegetable and other foods produced organically on the farm. Non-anglers take advantage of the long days with playing or watching a polo match or horseback rides and hikes to see wildlife such as red deer, rhea birds, condors and wild boar. They are also welcome to become involved in everyday farm life such as riding with the gauchos, milking or rounding up cattle. In addition, the estancia is a paradise for children who may play with the many children of the lodge staff. Children under 12 are admitted free.

	Casting techniques

This option typically combines a 4-day float trip with fine lodging accommodations. Guest may spend 2-6 nights floating and fishing one of several rivers in northern Patagonia and the remaining days enjoying a luxurious ranch or lodge. The fishing, food, wines, guides and Argentina's wild Patagonia astound our guests. Our customers frequently say the 4-day float trip was the best part of their Patagonia experience.

We provide all camping equipment and carry our gear in a separate raft so that fishing boats have ample space to fish. Our baggage boatman will move ahead of anglers to ensure camp is set up and refreshments and hors d'oeuvres are waiting upon arrival. On arrival, you may relax by the fire or keep fishing while dinner is cooked. Meals are traditional Argentine cuisine made fresh every day by our professional chef. Wines are carefully selected from famous wineries of Mendoza, Argentina. We make these float trips first class and provide the best camping, floating and fishing experience in Patagonia.
